The Constitution is a detailed outline of the government of the United States. Our Consititution is one of the most important pieces of our (governmental) history- protecting our rights as people, providing compromise between the power of the states and the power of the central government, and establishing the order and responsibilities between our three main branches of government: the Legislative Branch, Executive Branch and Judicial Branch. Without the Constitution, our government would probably not be as functional as it is today, and our nation might have crumbled under the many weak areas that were found in the Articles of Confederation.
