Article 2
Section 1
Clause 4: Time of Elections
As Article 1, Section 1, Clause 4 states, Presidential elections are always held on the first Tuesday in November. In our modern era, not all people are allowed to leave work in order to vote for their preferred candidate during the work day. Many citizens do not get permission from their bosses to leave the workplace, or simply do not have the time to leave work to vote. I would change the day of voting from the first Tuesday in November to be the first Saturday or Sunday of November, so that many workers that may have not had the chance to vote more probably could. This would require citizens to give up a brief amount of time on that weekend up, and have any public voting places stay open that weekend for the voting. However, seeing that this change would probably not make a large economical change in our society, inconvenience many people, but rather the opposite, I believe this idea should be put to use.
